ABOUT COONABARABRAN
Coonabarabran is the largest town in the Warrumbungle Shire (shire population 9500) in north-western NSW. Surrounding towns include Coolah, Dunedoo, Mendooran, Baradine and Binnaway.
Coonabarabran is the gateway to the majestic Warrumbungle National Park and Siding Spring Observatory, Australia’s largest optical astronomy research facility. Coonabarabran is a great place to live, with an inviting local community, great schools and sporting facilities and a quiet, beautiful environment.
Coonabarabran is about six hours’ drive from Sydney and is about halfway between Melbourne and Brisbane. The major regional cities of Dubbo and Tamworth are less than two hours’ drive away.
